Rising high above all others, the Shard is now London’s tallest building and Europe’s highest skyscraper. 

The building’s inauguration took place just a few days ago accompanied by an incredible light show with twelve lasers lighting up the night sky. 

Designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano, the tall edifice rises 72 floors above the ground with space for offices, private residences, restaurants and a luxury hotel. 

Standing more than 1,000 ft tall, the Shard is a ‘vertical city’ that offers incredible views of London and will be open for public viewing starting February 2013.
